Qualified Dividend- A dividend that is taxed at a lower tax rate than ordinary dividends because they meet a certain set of requirements outlined in the internal revenue code. To be a qualified dividend, the dividend generally must be paid by an American company or by a foreign company on the IRS’s approved list, and the required holding period must be met.

Originally traded by an open outcry system, the TSEC switched to a computerized trading system in the early 1990s. The performance of the TSEC is primarily tracked by the Capitalization Weighted Stock Index, which is similar to the S&P 500 index.

If the bond or security is sold at a premium the yield to maturity is less than the current yield, whereas it would be greater than the current yield if it is sold at a discount.

Zero Uptick – The price of a security that is the same as the previous transaction price, but which is higher than the most recent different transaction price. It is also often referred to as zero-plus tick.
