Umbrella Liability Insurance – A type of liability insurance policy designed to protect individuals or businesses against claims that exceed the coverage of their primary liability insurance policy. Umbrella liability insurance can also be used to protect against claims not covered by the primary liability insurance policy. Umbrella liability insurance policies are commonly used by businesses and individuals to protect capital or to preserve wealth.
